Fashion 101

I have always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer ever since I can remember. I love putting outfits together even though I have a hard time due to lack of cute clothes. I really looked up to those women who wore corporate attire but still looked like they're walking down the runway. I just really, really love clothes and shoes and bags, so I told myself, "Yes, I'm going to become a fashion designer when I grow up."

But unfortunately, I didn't get into fashion school once I started college. Instead, I took up Accountancy, which is miles away from being a fashion designer. My grandmother always told me that in life, I should be practical. And since money is a little tight, I had to be the 'bigger' person and decided to give up my dreams. For now.

Well, being an Accountancy student doesn't really stop me from being a 'fashionista', so to speak. My friends really admire the clothes I wear to school. It's funny actually because in my school, we don't have any prescribed uniform but we are required to wear corporate attire. It's like a f*cking dream come true, right? I can actually see myself as one of those women in their business/red-carpet-worthy outfits. It's absolutely a perfect opportunity for me to be both practical AND idealistic. I have the chance to have a business degree, surely become a CPA someday, and at the same time, I'm able to wear the outfits that I love!

Of course, my fashion sense over the years have developed. And it is thanks to the people who inspire me! One of them is my best friend, the self-proclaimed fashionista and soon-to-be a lawyer sweetheart, Maria Gicel Cambri (Check out her blog here!). I don't think she had an idea that I idolize her (might as well keep that a secret or she'll have an ego the size of that famed globe in Mall of Asia! haha). I'm really in awe with her guts. She listens well. Whenever I'm down, I come to her. And not to mention, she's famous for her badass love advice. I really love that girl.

Another woman that I look up to is An Dyer. She's a fashion blogger (See for yourself, here's her blog) and I absolutely love, love, love her fashion sense. I've been following her outfit posts for a couple of years now, and she never fails to disappoint me. If I'd be given a chance, I would like to have a tour of her closet. (Yes, her closet!) What I love about this lady is not just her clothes or bags or shoes, it's actually a silly reason but I'm really inspired with how her husband supports her in everything. I told myself if I'd be given a chance to get married someday, I think I want a husband like Chris Dyer who would be the one to take hundreds of photos of me because I love being photographed! I mean, who doesn't! It's a given to all those fashionista out there, right?

There's still more but they are on the top of my list. Maybe as we go along, I might mention the other people who inspires me. After going through numerous pictures of myself (I'm not vain, I SWEAR!), I decided "to hell with it" and just make my own fashion blog. After sifting through them, this is the photo that me and my little sister had agreed upon to be on my first post.

Even if I'm not going to become a fashion designer because to be honest, I already fell in love with Accountancy, I think I can still be a fashion blogger, right? I do hope I can garner a lot of readers/viewers. I would love to share this to all the girls out there who LOVE fashion! Til my next post. Laters, baby!
